Karate
represents different things to different people. We are often told to concentrate
on training and that everything will come from practice. As human beings however,
we think about what we do, whether it be our work, our family or private life
or the hobbies or activities that reflect our character.
Being a JKA Karateka gives us a lot to think about and there is nothing better
than a discussion between people with Karate as the common interest. So much
can be learned in the dialogue and personal reflections of what has happened
to us as a result of our training.
These pages are a collection of thoughts, studies, memories, anecdotes and personal
messages from practicing or former JKA people. Each is taking or has taken a
unique interpretation of their training away into their daily lives. The common
thread among our contributors is that they have practiced JKA Karate, mostly
to an advanced level. They have kindly agreed to record their thoughts for this
website and we are grateful for their input.
